The Department of Sociology was established in the year 1959 and Dr. Girish Chandra Kulshreshtha was appointed as the in-charge of the department. From its inception, the department is running a two-year undergraduate programme for the students. The Department possesses a well-established team of dedicated and experienced faculty members highly specialized in diverse fields of research and interest. By virtue of its dedicated faculty and rigorous teaching, the Department has produced a number of scholars, professionals, social and political activists.
