Dayanand Vedic College is inspired by the Ideology of a great Saint, Philosopher, and founder of Arya Samaj, Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The College was established on 20 July 1951 by Shri Kishori Lal Khare, Shri Moolchandra Agarwal, Shri Ramashankar Saxena, and Pandit Chaturbhuj Sharma. This college has a unique image in the entire Bundelkhand Region, consistently setting new heights in the field of Higher Education. The Faculty of Languages; Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Faculty of Fine Arts and Performing Arts; Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Teacher Education are Core faculties of this college. Dayanand Vedic College is a famous college situated at the headquarters of Orai of the District Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh offering Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Research Centers of Doctorate programs in various faculties. The College received a ‘B’ Grade with an excellent NAAC grade (CGPA 2.61) and the Teacher Education Department received a ‘B’ Grade (CGPA 2.76) during the NAAC First Cycle by the NAAC Peer Team. It is also a matter of pride that the college has been awarded the 'A' category by the Directorate of Higher Education, Prayagraj (U.P.). The College has 57 experienced teaching faculties, 53 skilled non-teaching staff, and around 3000 students. The college has sustained a glorious tradition of teaching and learning along with quality research. All the departmental laboratories of the College are well-equipped to execute practical and research work. A Central Library of the College has many rare Manuscripts, Encyclopedias, Research Surveys, and approx 65,000 books. The Library has a facility of student reading room and a Faculty-Scholar study room equipped with Books, research Journals, Magazines, and Newspapers. For sports students, our college provides a facility for Indoor and outdoor games like Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Athletics etc. Student Associations/ Clubs are formed department-wise in the college to develop qualities like independent thinking, artistic interest, writing and speaking ability, strength of character, citizenship, and leadership. Cultural, literary, and social functions are also organized from time to time under the auspices of these councils. These councils run by the students under the guidance of teachers and the students who participate in them are being encouraged and rewarded. The college's annual magazine 'Abhinav Jyoti' has made a remarkable contribution to the development of the creative and critical talent of the students. National festivals are organized in the college every year on Independence Day, Republic Day, Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, etc. with dignity and devotion. The scholarship has been accepted for Economically Weaker Sections, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities, and Disabled as per Government Rules.
