Due to the best efforts of the Management and the Principal Graduation in Mathematics was established in the year 1963 and the Postgraduate course in Mathematics started in 1995. It was a great achievement for this college. Dr. H.C. Yadav joined the college as a founder head Dept. of Mathematics on 01.10.1963. After this, Dr. R.C. Singh Chandel joined this department as a
lecturer on 04.08.1969. Society. Due to the inspiration of Late Dr. B.B. Lal, Ex. Vice Chancellor, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi (U.P.) Dr R.C. Singh Chandel came on the front and started the publication of Mathematical Research Journal “JNANABHA” of Vijnana Parishad, D.V. Postgraduate College, Orai in 1970-71 with the help of various experts and
active members on its Editorial Board having Professor J. N. Kapoor as chief advisor and Dr. R.C. Singh Chandel as Editor. As soon as the journal “Jnanabha” saw the light of day, in 1972 it attracted the attention of scholars of the world, it crossed the boundary of the college in no time. It could not be limited to the college therefore “Vijnana Parishad” adopted
the slightly modified name “Vijnana Parishad of India” indicating an extension of its field to the International Dimension, and “Vijnana ParishadIndia” became an independent body free from the college. Dr. R.C. Singh Chandel became the founder secretary and of Treasurer of “Vijnana Parishad of India”.

* To intensify training and research in Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
On this occasion, we cannot forget the name of Prof. H.M. Srivastava (Victoria, Canada), in 1972 who was invited to work as Foreign Secretary of the Parishad and gladly he agreed to work as one of the Editor also. Some foreign experts in different fields of mathematics and other science were also included in the Editorial Board. VPI is one of five Indian societies, which have a Reciprocity Agreement with the American Maths Society. There are more Mathematical Research Journals (foreign and Indian] come in the Department
in the exchange of Research Journal “Jnanabha”.
Dr. R.C. Singh Chandel has outstanding research experience with more than one hundred published research papers which are referenced in several internationally prescribed Text Books, supervised 18 Ph.D. He has around 40 years of experience in teaching graduate and postgraduate level courses. He received various awards and honours in the field of Mathematics research and teaching. He also organized various annual conferences of V.P.I. and the National Symposia of Mathematics Applications. R.C. Singh Chandel is a referee of various Research Journals. He is a Reviewer of Mathematical Reviews, U.S.A. and Zentralblatt for Mathematik, Germany. He is also the Editor of Bulletin of Vijnana Parishad of India (Since1992-93) and the Proceeding of Vijnana Parishad of India (1989-92).
